The city has hired John Bates Associates Inc. to design and eventually construct a new City Hall facility, which may cost no more than $6 million.
The current civic center site will be used for the new facility, to be built in two phases, the second of which would include a police facility. The first phase would not be finished until at least late 2002, Deputy City Manager Wes Morgan said.
