Woman Loses Foot After Being Hit by School Bus

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. — A school bus making a left turn hit a woman crossing the street and severed her foot, and emergency workers had to search under and around the vehicle for the missing body part, while about 20 kindergartners waited on the bus, a witness said.
June Koike, 42, was in critical condition Tuesday, after surgeons tried to reattach part of her foot that had been severed in the Monday afternoon accident. Hospital officials would not say whether the foot had been saved.
