Physicians with Chapman Medical Center donated $30,000 to high schools and youth groups Thursday, the first donations ever given by the medical group.
Foothill High School in Santa Ana received $10,000 to reinstate its student handbook program, which had been cut because of budget problems. El Modena High and Orange High, both in Orange, each received $5,000 to buy computers and improve technology. An additional $5,000 was set aside for youth groups that apply for funding during the year. And a $5,000 scholarship fund was set up for children of hospital employees. Information: (714) 633-0011.
