Tim Laker (Simi Valley, Oxnard College) drove in two runs with his fourth home run for Nashville (Pirates) in an 8-4 victory at Iowa. . . . Brent Cookson (Santa Paula, Ventura College) had two hits and is batting .335 for Albuquerque (Dodgers), but the Dukes fell, 7-6, to Fresno. . . . Dan Cey (El Camino Real) had two hits and and RBI to help Salt Lake (Twins) to an 11-8 victory over Oklahoma. Oklahoma (Rangers) pitcher Brandon Knight (Buena, Ventura College) left with a 7-4 lead after seven innings, but Salt Lake scored six runs in the eighth and Knight wound up with no decision. . . . New Orleans (Astros) pitcher Bob Scanlan (Harvard-Westlake) took a 3-1 loss to Vancouver after allowing eight hits, striking out four and walking one in six innings.
Double-A: Javier Delahoya (Grant) improved to 9-1 for Bowie (Orioles) after allowing four hits and two walks while striking out eight in seven innings in a 5-0 victory over Altoona.
Class-A: Chris Paxton (Palmdale) hit his sixth home run and drove in four runs for Frederick (Orioles) in a 9-7 loss to Salem. . . . Jon Schaeffer (Harvard-Westlake) had a hit, walked twice and drove in a run for Quad City (Twins) in a 6-5 victory over Michigan. . . . Ryan Hankins (Simi Valley) had a hit for Burlington in a 6-4 victory over Wisconsin. . . . Chris Garza (Notre Dame) recorded his second save for Fort Myers (Twins) after allowing three hits but no runs and striking out one in three innings of a 7-4 victory over Clearwater.
