Post-Jordan NBA: It’s Not All That Bad

There may be no heir to Jordan, but the NBA he left behind gave legions of basketball fans one of the most exciting, suspenseful and surprise-laden seasons ever. Without the ubiquitous Chicago Bulls in the playoffs, we have, instead, been treated to the heroics of the Sacramento Kings, the rebirth of the New York Knicks, and the class, grace, and talent of David Robinson’s San Antonio Spurs.
If this is what the post-Jordan NBA is like, hey, who’s complaining?

You know what San Antonio’s sweep of Portland means, don’t you? Coach of the year Mike Dunleavy will have to be fired and replaced by that guy who taught Michael Jordan everything he knows.
I hope the Spurs don’t sweep Larry Bird’s team, or Jeff Van Gundy’s team, because by that time we will have run out of Phil Jacksons!
