Carlos Slim, Mexico’s wealthiest businessman, has purchased a 24% stake in the parent of Grupo Televisa, the country’s biggest broadcaster, adding to a Mexican communications empire that is No. 1 in telephones, Internet service and cable. Sinca Inbursa, a venture capital fund controlled by Slim, paid about $240 million for the stake in Grupo Televicentro.
