The City Council on Tuesday awarded a $2.3-million contract to Hillcrest Contracting Inc. and a $67,000 contract to Boyle Engineering for services related to the Euclid Street Improvement Project. Council members also voted to increase the 1998-99 Traffic Improvement Budget by about $1 million. The project includes constructing and landscaping raised medians from the San Diego Freeway southbound ramps to Slater Avenue, modifying signals, and widening the intersections where Euclid Street crosses Talbert, Warner, Edinger and Southpark avenues. The total project cost is about $2.8 million.
