Councilman Shawn Boyd is sponsoring a monthly beach cleanup beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.
The city will provide gloves and equipment for the two-hour effort that begins at the lifeguards’ headquarters on the beach.
Future cleanups will take place the first Saturday of the month, and will focus on shoreline pollution from the San Gabriel River to Anaheim Bay, Boyd said. Information: (562) 596-8844.
