Guard Sean Wink informed Northwestern basketball Coach Kevin O’Neill last week that he had lost interest in playing the game. Wink, a graduate of Brea Olinda High, will continue to pursue his degree in communication studies at Northwestern.
“Sean just decided he wants to go to school and not worry about basketball anymore,” O’Neill was quoted in the Evanston (Ill.) Review. “I was surprised when he told me . . . and I respect his decision.”
Wink appeared in all 29 games last season, starting 21 and averaging 7.1 points.
