Granada Hills Cruises Behind Winn, Ortega

Jason Winn completed 14 of 22 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown to lead Granada Hills High over Cleveland, 45-20, in a West Valley League opener on Friday night at Granada Hills.
Winn threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Tommy Garagliano to give the Highlanders (5-1) a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter. He also connected with running back Robert Ortega on a 96-yard pass play that set up Ortega’s second touchdown.
Ortega rushed 15 times for 67 yards, including touchdowns of 19 and one yard, and had two receptions for 109 yards.
Omari Mack had 136 yards and three touchdowns in 17 carries for Granada Hills, which had a 24-0 halftime lead. Teammate Carlos Galindo had five receptions for 79 yards.
Cleveland’s James Bethea was limited to minus-three yards rushing in the first half, finishing with 65 yards and two touchdowns in 14 carries.
Eddie Whitaker completed 12 of 22 passes for 183 yards for the Cavaliers (3-3).
