Attorney Tina L. Rasnow has been chosen as the 1999 recipient of the Ben E. Nordman Public Service Award, the highest honor given by the Ventura County Bar Assn.
Rasnow, of Newbury Park, is scheduled to receive the award during the association’s annual installation and awards banquet Nov. 20.
Among Rasnow’s accomplishments was her role in establishing the Ventura County Teen Court in 1995, of which she is the chairwoman. She was selected to launch the Self-Help Legal Access Center in Ventura in 1997, where she serves as the senior attorney.
Since its creation, the center has assisted more than 700 people every month at no charge.
Rasnow, 41, is also involved with the Youth Education Motivation Program in Ventura, a friend of the court committee of California Women’s Lawyers, Ventura County NAACP Saturday School and Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement.
