Students at Gates Elementary School will have an extra four days of summer vacation this year, thanks to the school’s ongoing reconstruction.
Other schools in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District start Thursday. But at Gates Elementary, workers will be putting the final touches on the school’s $1.4-million modernization project until students return Monday.
The 34-year-old school is the first in the district to undergo modernization.
