Orange County has thousands of dollars in federal funds available for local residents and nonprofit groups, but few people seem to know it.
The city held a workshop Wednesday night with residents of the Atwood, La Jolla and Santa Fe neighborhoods to get feedback on projects in those areas that might qualify for the funds.
Although the city mailed out more than 700 letters, fewer than 10 people showed up. For 25 years, the city has received federal funds from the county through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s annual block grant program.
