Sturges Homage

Susan King’s “They’re Company Men and Women” (Nov. 26) talked about, among others, Preston Sturges and even showed a picture of Joel McCrea and Veronica Lake in Sturges’ classic “Sullivan’s Travels.”
While mentioning that David Mamet’s new film pays tribute to several Sturges films, she missed an obvious “Sullivan’s Travels” homage: The title of the Coen brothers’ upcoming “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” was the name of the movie McCrea’s film director character was trying to get his studio bosses to approve.
