Film Forum to Explore ‘Art vs. Commerce’

The Los Angeles Press Club and the Producers Guild of America will present a public forum, “High Noon in Hollywood: Art vs. Commerce in the Movies,” on Dec. 18 at the L.A. Film School Theater, 6363 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood.
Scheduled panelists include film producers Gale Anne Hurd (“Armageddon”), Mark Gordon (“The Patriot”), Neal Moritz (“Cruel Intentions”) and Hawk Koch (“Frequency”), along with critics and entertainment reporters David Ansen (Newsweek), Manohla Dargis (LA Weekly), Sam Rubin (KTLA-TV), David Sheehan (KCBS-TV) and the Los Angeles Times’ Kenneth Turan.
Critic-turned-filmmaker Rod Lurie (“The Contender”) will moderate the 7:30 p.m. panel.
