Holiday Metrolink Train to Make Stops
Metrolink’s 2000 Holiday Toy Express Train, decorated with more than 30,000 lights, garlands and holiday displays, can be seen at Ventura County train stations Sunday.
Each 20-minute musical stop will feature a search for Santa, who has taken a badly timed “summer” vacation and can’t be found as Christmas Eve approaches. The show, written and directed by a Metrolink staff member, also features 50 volunteer musicians.
Admission is free, but donations of unwrapped toys or sports equipment are encouraged.
Gifts collected at Metrolink stations go to the Spark of Love Toy Drive, organized by local firefighters.
The holiday train has been visiting stations throughout the system’s Southern California service area since Dec. 1.
The train will visit the Simi Valley station at 5:45 p.m., Moorpark at 6:35 p.m., Camarillo at 7:10 p.m. and Oxnard at 8 p.m.
