Hunter Suspended From Titan Basketball Team

Sophomore guard Kandace Hunter has been suspended indefinitely from the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team, Coach Barbara Ehardt said Wednesday.
“This is a big blow to our basketball team,” Ehardt said. “It just came down to a difference of opinion, and we are very sorry that it came to this. We hope this situation can work itself out in a positive way for both sides.”
Hunter, who played at Moreno Valley High, leads the Titans in scoring with an average of 11.9 points.
Fullerton (0-8) plays at San Jose State tonight.
* Lisa Faulkner, a 5-5 guard at Oregon City High, and Katie Sturgeon, a 6-2 center from Mountain Top (Pa.) Crestwood High have signed to play at UC Irvine, Coach Mark Adams has announced.
FOOTBALL
Liberty Christian quarterback Nick Harbert, running back Mike Spagnola and wide receiver Aaron Mendoza were named to the first-team offense on the the All-Southern Section eight-man small-school division football team.
Liberty Christian’s Chris Houser and Eastside Christian’s Alan Mendez were named to the first-team defense.
Eastside’s Chris Bradley and O’neil Cousins and Liberty Christian’s David Huie were selected honorable mention.
