Legend Airlines to Restart Operations
Legend Airlines Inc. got a green light from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to use $1 million in loans to restart its operations. The carrier, based in Dallas, has not said when service will resume out of Dallas’ Love Field but has said it is aiming for Jan. 15. The court hearing came after the airline secured $20 million from a private investment group. Legend must return to court to use more than the $1 million approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert McGuire, however. A hearing before McGuire probably will be scheduled within the next 15 days. Legend filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Dec. 3. It was the first airline to operate long-haul flights from Love Field in more than a quarter of a century.
