Laguna Hills High Will Represent O.C. in Academic Contest

Laguna Hills High School has won top honors in Orange County’s Academic Decathlon competition and will represent the county in the statewide competition.
Winners were announced at an awards ceremony Thursday night at the Disneyland Hotel.
This year, 67 teams entered the competition, which tests students on a variety of subjects, including mathematics, speech, science, political science and fine arts.
The statewide competition will be held March 17-19 in Los Angeles.
Laguna Hills High is in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, which also had the second-place winner, Trabuco Hills High. Third was Los Alamitos High; fourth, Marina High in Huntington Beach; and fifth was Sunny Hills High in Fullerton.
