A two-alarm fire that rushed through a Niguel Pointe condominium Thursday morning and left it uninhabitable was started by an unattended candle, according to Orange County fire authorities.
No injuries were reported from the fire, which began around 9 a.m. in a bathroom and caused nearly $180,000 in damage, said Paul Hunter, public information officer.
Neighbors comforted resident Jennifer Morrison, 29, who stood shivering outside her rented condominium on Niguel Pointe Drive.
The fire was put out in about 13 minutes, said fire Capt. Kenny Dossey.
