The city has begun talks with the Placentia-Yorba Linda school district to lease land behind City Hall to build a skate park, said Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Director Steve Rudometkin.
The Parks Commission voted last week to recommended the location to the City Council, pending an agreement with the school district. Rudometkin said the land, owned by the school district, is conducive to a skate park because there are no homes next to it.
He said it also has other facilities nearby, such as a grocery store, fast-food restaurants, a park and intersections with traffic signals.
