A Whittier man installing TV equipment atop a carwash in Orange died Thursday after falling from its roof, authorities said.
Howard Travis, 45, was pronounced dead at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana shortly after 4:30 p.m. Investigators said he fell about 15 feet from the roof of the carwash at 2355 N. Tustin Ave.
“He was installing satellite television equipment when he accidentally stepped into an opening on the roof and fell to the ground,” said Lt. Jim Hudson, a spokesman for the Orange Police Department. “The fall resulted in major head trauma.”
No foul play is suspected, Hudson said. The accident is being investigated by the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
