4.0 Aftershock Rocks Mojave Desert Area

The latest moderate aftershock from the Oct. 16 Hector Mine earthquake, this one measuring magnitude 4.0, rocked a Mojave Desert area 39 miles east of Barstow early Thursday, Caltech seismologists reported.
The aftershock occurred at 2:41 a.m., and there was neither damage nor injuries. A 4.4 aftershock took place in the same vicinity Feb. 14.
