A 48-year-old man was killed early Saturday after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a median on the Antelope Valley Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Gerald Sargent of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Frank Sansone said.
Sargent was southbound, south of Mountain Springs Road, with two other motorcyclists, when he lost control of his motorcycle about 3:10 a.m., hit a metal guardrail and was thrown from his bike, Sansone said.
Authorities closed the freeway’s southbound fast lane for about three hours while they investigated the crash.
