From Times Staff Reports
The four coyotes shot and killed after a playground attack on two elementary school children were not rabid, authorities said Thursday.
Howard Sutter, spokesman for the Orange County Health Care Agency, said results of tests on the four carcasses were negative. Still to be determined is whether the four animals included the one that attacked two youngsters Tuesday at Truman Benedict Elementary School. The California Fish and Game Department said it could take up to a month before DNA tests are completed on body fluids from the two children.
