* * Iowa (3-0) at No. 21 Purdue (3-0), ESPN, 9 a.m.: The Hawkeyes remain one of three unbeaten Big Ten teams. But Purdue gets nod at home. LINE: Purdue by 31/2.
* * No. 8 Virginia Tech (4-0) at West Virginia (2-2) ESPN2, 9 a.m.: The only real curiosity is why Virginia Tech is ranked this high. LINE: Virginia Tech by 15.
* Hawaii (1-2) at Southern Methodist (0-3), Fox Sports Net, 9 a.m.: With one victory between these teams and Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang out because of injury, only alumni should watch. LINE: SMU by 5.
* * * Colorado (3-1) at No. 12 Kansas State (2-1), Fox Sports Net 2, 9:30 a.m.: Kansas State made a big impression with one-point loss to Oklahoma. Next task is to beat Buffaloes, 0-6 against top 20 teams with Gary Barnett as coach. LINE: Kansas State by 10.
* * * Pittsburgh (1-2) at Notre Dame (0-3), Channel 4, 11:30 a.m.: This could be a rare opportunity to see the Irish win. If they don’t, falling to 0-4 at home is a debacle worth witnessing. LINE: Notre Dame by 61/2.
* * * No. 2 Florida (4-0) at No. 18 Louisiana State (2-1), Channel 2, KSPN 1110, 12:30 p.m.: LSU’s sorry secondary is the main reason Rex Grossman will have another 300-yard day. LINE: Florida by 131/2.
* * * * No. 3 Oklahoma (4-0) at No. 5 Texas (4-0), Channel 7, XTRA 690, 12:30 p.m.: Biggest clash yet in still-young season: They’ll play in the Cotton Bowl to see who’s still standing in the race for the Rose Bowl. LINE: Texas by 31/2.
* * * USC (1-3) at No. 11 Washington (3-0), Fox Sports Net, KMPC 1540, 12:30 p.m.: Yes, someday, Washington’s luck will run out. But probably not today. LINE: Washington by 51/2.
* * Mississippi State (1-2) at Auburn (3-1), ESPN2, 4 p.m.: Mississippi State’s 52-0 loss to Florida was its worst in three decades. If Bulldogs don’t recover against Auburn, they’ll be 0-3 in Southeastern Conference. LINE: Auburn by 21/2.
* * Iowa State (3-0) at No. 4 Nebraska (5-0), Fox Sports Net, 4 p.m.: Iowa State running back Ennis Haywood is envious of all the attention Fresno State is getting. Beat Nebraska, and you’ll have plenty, Ennis. LINE: Nebraska by 24.
* * * No. 14 Northwestern (3-0) at Ohio State (2-1), ESPN, 4:45 p.m.: Here’s a chance to gauge how UCLA might compare to Northwestern--and if it’s close, a chance for Wildcat quarterback Zak Kustok to pull off another fantastic finish. LINE: Ohio State by 3.
* * No. 7 Oregon (4-0) at Arizona (3-1), Fox Sports Net, 7:15 p.m.: Anybody fooled by Arizona’s 3-0 start knows the score after Washington State beat the Wildcats, 48-21. LINE: Oregon by 5.
