My heart skipped a beat when I saw the photograph of 21/2-year-old Sarah Gaines riding on the Santa Monica Pier carousel (Oct. 14). Not only is it a masterpiece of photography, it is so such more. This innocent child represents in simplest terms how vital it is that we keep our resolve to guarantee that she may grow up in a safe world, free from the fear of terrorism.
