Veloso, one of the founders of Brazil’s genre-embracing Tropicalia movement, has always found inspiration in other cultural areas. In this brilliant live concert tribute to Federico Fellini and Giulietta Masina, his capacity to contrast tender subtlety and poignant irony is on full display in his sweet-voiced transformation of Nino Rota themes and a diverse set of songs chosen to reflect his atmospheric memories of the Fellini films.
