DAVID CARR
Quarterback, Fresno State
Carr, the first dark horse to emerge, was 22 for 38 for 240 yards and two touchdowns at Camp Randall Stadium, a place where Wisconsin had not lost a nonconference game since 1995.
Season: 63 for 106, 762 yards, 7 TDs.
Next: vs. Utah State, Sat.

ERIC CROUCH
Quarterback, Nebraska
By defeating Notre Dame he’s still in the race, but these numbers don’t compare to last season and won’t sustain him much longer if things don’t change in a hurry.
Season: 53 carries, 148 yards, 3 TDs; 24 for 42, 348 yards.
Next: vs. Rice, Sat.

KEN DORSEY
Quarterback, Miami
Although he didn’t play in the fourth quarter, Dorsey still torched Rutgers for 315 yards in a 61-0 victory. He did miss several open receivers though and will need a big game against the Huskies.
Season: 34 for 52, 659 yards, 5 TDs.
Next: vs. Washington, Sat.

DeSHAUN FOSTER
Running back, UCLA
Now that he’s a senior, is this finally Foster’s year to shine? A 179-yard performance against Kansas is a good step toward that end. But remember that he had 327 yards after two games last season before injuries and inconsistency struck.
Season: 52 carries, 289 yards, 1 TD.
Next: vs. Arizona State, Sat.
