Book Lovers Are Alive and Well

Regarding “Roth’s Complaint: Americans Have Forgotten Fiction” (Aug. 29): I disagree with Philip Roth’s comment that people no longer care for literature. I know so many people who belong to book clubs; each time I go to Barnes & Noble, it is crowded; at the used-book store, people are buying, selling and trading books; people are collecting books to be given to elementary schoolchildren, and on and on.
I believe the computer will never supplant books for those of us who are truly bibliophiles.
