Shakespeare in L.A.

Thanks for your review of Kenneth Branagh’s Richard III (“Branagh Excels in ‘Richard III,’” March 30). Branagh is a marvelous Shakespearean actor. The only problem is that, unless I win the lottery, I won’t be making it to Sheffield, England, in time to see the play.

A much better option is to check out Circus Theatrical’s production of “Richard III” now playing at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A. Jack Stehlin’s Richard is thrilling, visceral, funny, frightening, pathetic, chilling and ultimately mesmerizing.
