Tustin police arrested five alleged gang members Saturday on suspicion of robbing a couple in Santa Ana and a woman in Tustin who was ordered to hand over her purse at gunpoint.
The two men and three boys were taken into custody at 12:45 a.m. after a traffic stop near McFadden Avenue and Ritchey Street, said Tustin Police Sgt. Tom Tarpley.
The five matched descriptions of suspects wanted in connection with the two Friday night robberies. Officers searched their car and discovered a handgun reported stolen in Colorado, Tarpley said.
Oscar Martinez, 20, and Jose Ramirez, 19, both of Santa Ana, were booked into Orange County Jail. The three minors, whose names were not released, were booked into Juvenile Hall.
