Re “Texas Executes Killer Despite Mexico Opposition,” Aug. 15: If Mexican President Vicente Fox spent as much time improving his economy and rooting out local corruption as he did trying to protect an admitted cop killer, perhaps hundreds of innocent Mexicans wouldn’t die in the desert trying to cross the border into the U.S.
