Retailer Nordstrom Inc. said fiscal fourth-quarter profit will top Wall Street forecasts because of better-than-expected sales and operating trends.
Nordstrom said it expects fourth-quarter earnings per share of 36 cents to 38 cents, up from a previous forecast of 27 cents to 31 cents, beating analysts’ estimates.
In the fourth quarter a year earlier, Nordstrom earned 21 cents a share.
The company issued its forecast after the end of trading. Shares of Nordstrom closed off 63 cents at $24.67 on the NYSE.
