An elderly brother and sister were left homeless when a fire caused up to $100,000 in damage to their Garden Grove house, authorities said Saturday.
The blaze erupted about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 13300 block of Ontario Drive, said American Red Cross spokesman Steve Bowcut. The residents, both in their 80s, were able to escape without injury.
The pair told authorities that the home was insured. The Red Cross provided them with food vouchers and put them up in a nearby hotel for the weekend, Bowcut said.
