The Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence is seeking volunteers to serve as crisis intervention counselors.
The coalition is accepting applications for its next volunteer training session, which starts June 3. The training will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July 20.
After the training, volunteers, who will undergo an interview and background screening, will be able to work at the coalition’s battered women’s shelter, respond to calls to its domestic violence response team and the sexual assault response team and staff the group’s 24-hour crisis hotline.
The coalition provides services to victims of family violence and sexual assault and educates the community regarding violence against women and children.
For information or an application, call 983-6014 or visit the coalition’s Web site at www.thecoalition.org.
