Enron Gouged Us

“Ex-Enron Trader Admits Rigging Energy Market” (Oct. 18) makes one wonder whether this latest development in the Enron mess will aid California in reclaiming $9 billion from the energy companies and whether any or all of that will be returned to the consumers who were so shamelessly gouged by this manufactured energy crisis. Each month when I pay my Edison bill (last month’s was nearly $600), I am reminded of how blatantly the energy industry has caused us to pay for the malfeasance of others. I can’t help wondering just how long we’re going to have to continue paying for it.
