A Bloomington man involved in a traffic collision that resulted in the emergency delivery of a newborn who died pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of causing injury while driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving an accident scene.
Gerardo Geronimo, 21, was arrested Sunday after he allegedly fled the accident near Perris Boulevard and Filaree Avenue in Moreno Valley that evening.
Geronimo was driving a truck that set off an accident that involved four cars, including one driven by a pregnant woman, authorities said. The unidentified woman was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center, where she delivered a boy, who died early Monday morning, according to the coroner’s office.
