Appliance-Sparked Fire Forces Hotel Evacuation

A coffeemaker left on overnight sparked a fire at a hotel Friday, prompting the evacuation of the 31 guests and causing $60,000 in damage, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Miller said.
No injuries were reported.
Fire at the Laguna Hills Lodge, in the 23900 block of Paseo de Valencia, was reported at 4 a.m. and extinguished 22 minutes later, Miller said.
