New Hospital Complex Planned for Midtown

Sutter Medical Center is planning a $385-million expansion that could transform part of midtown Sacramento into a medical complex that includes a new hospital, housing units and retail space.
Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, filed its application Thursday with the city for renovations and new construction in the seven-block area near the hospital. The complex is to include a new eight-story Women’s and Children’s Hospital, as well as a $30-million to $35-million theater complex and shopping.
