Stabbing Victim Found in Trailer Is Identified

A woman who was found stabbed to death inside a trailer parked near a Fullerton church was identified Thursday as Jeanette Elias, 24, of Sylmar.
Elias died Tuesday from stab wounds to the torso and neck, Orange County coroner officials said.
Police arrested Steven Carl Evans, 55, a registered sex offender, in connection with Elias’ slaying. He is scheduled to be arraigned today.
Elias’ body was found in the 4100 block of Artesia Avenue. Authorities were tipped off by Evans’ sister-in-law, a pastor at another church.
