Diaper-Recycling Program May Be Ended

The city’s pioneering program to recycle dirty baby diapers should be discontinued, a city staff report has recommended.
The nine-month pilot program, in which 226 households set their disposable diapers out for recycling, cost too much for the small amount of trash it diverted from landfills, according to the city’s Field Services Division.
The council is to consider the issue tonight at City Hall.
