Burned Land, Floods Topic of 3 Local Sessions

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services will hold several meetings to tell residents near fire-damaged land how to protect their property from flooding.
The next session will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Moorpark Civic Center, 799 Moorpark Road.
The second will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Simi Valley Emergency Operations Center at 3901 Alamo St.
The final meeting will be 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 13 at Fillmore City Hall, 524 Sespe St.
The sessions will include speakers from the U.S. Forest Service, the National Weather Service and the Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, which provides funds and information on protecting soils.
