BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Kevin Rogers, Corona Centennial: Hit a layup with 1.7 seconds left to lift Corona Centennial (11-6, 2-0) to a 64-63 Mountain View League victory at Corona. Rogers finished with 15 points.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Noelle Quinn and Khiara Ferguson, Torrance Bishop Montgomery: Quinn had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Bishop Montgomery (12-5, 2-0), the No. 8-ranked team in the region, in a 50-40 Del Rey League victory at Bishop Amat. Quinn scored eight points in a 9-2 run after Bishop Amat (18-3, 1-1), ranked No. 5, pulled to within 34-33 in the opening minute of the fourth quarter. Ferguson added eight rebounds, five blocked shots, five points and three assists.

Maddie Weissman, Pasadena Westridge: Weissman, who scored a game-high 14 points, made two free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining to give Westridge (6-6, 2-4) a 35-33 Prep League victory over Flintridge Prep (9-3, 3-1).

BOYS’ SOCCER

Mansor Sarwary, West Hills El Camino Real: He kicked in the decisive goal in the 79th minute for El Camino Real (11-1-2, 3-0) in a 2-1 West Valley League victory over Birmingham.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Kasey Moore, Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley: She scored in the 58th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the Cougars (12-3-1, 2-2-0), the No. 3-ranked team in the region, a 2-1 South Coast League victory over first-place El Dorado (7-5-1, 3-1-0), ranked No. 10.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Brittany Bowlus and Christina Hewko, Corona del Mar: Bowlus had three goals and two steals and Hewko had two goals, four steals and two assists for Corona del Mar (10-2), the No. 2-ranked team in the area, in a 12-7 nonleague victory over No. 6 Long Beach Wilson.

Monique Blanchard, Riverside Poly: Blanchard scored nine goals and assisted on three others for Riverside Poly (16-1, 1-0), the No. 7-ranked team in the region, in an 18-6 Ivy League victory at Riverside North (8-4, 0-1).

Rebekah Tipton, Ventura: She scored four goals for the Cougars (8-3) in a 13-4 nonleague victory over Nordhoff .

Bridget McKee and Kate Purcell, Newbury Park: McKee scored the decisive goal with 35 seconds left and Purcell scored three goals as the Panthers (13-8, 3-1) edged the Warriors, 5-4, in overtime in a Marmonte League game at Westlake.

WRESTLING

Shawn Riggs and Jacob Chun, Thousand Oaks: Riggs, wrestling at 189 pounds, pinned Scott Shen of Royal in 1 minute, 20 seconds to improve his record to 26-2 on the season and lead the Lancers (14-0, 4-0) in a 48-19 Marmonte League victory.
