Sheriff’s deputies searched Friday for two men who broke into a Thousand Oaks home in an early morning raid, tied up the family at gunpoint and fled with some items.
The robbery began at 2:15 a.m. when the men, who had what seemed to be machine guns, confronted the homeowner, who was outside the home in the 4900 block of Moorpark Road checking on a barking dog, said Sgt. Pat MacAuley of the Sheriff’s Department.
The men led the 46-year-old man back into the house, where he was bound and left on the floor. The men then awoke the rest of the family -- the wife, 48, and two sons, ages 19 and 21 -- and bound them before spending a half hour ransacking the house, authorities said.
