Screenplays for the movies “Antwone Fisher” and “Whale Rider” and an episode of the TV drama, “The Practice” were among the winners of 2003 Humanitas Awards, the annual movie and TV writing honors established by the late Father Ellwood “Bud” Kieser. The awards were presented Thursday at a luncheon in Universal City.
Also presented with Humanitas Awards were the Showtime movie “Our America,” the Disney Channel’s “A Ring of Endless Light,” an episode of Fox’s “The Bernie Mac Show,” and an episode of The WB’s animated series, “Static Shock.”
