Divers Sweep Waters After Torpedo Discovery

U.S. Navy divers conducted a precautionary sweep Monday near Pillar Point Harbor after the discovery of a World War II torpedo earlier this month, authorities said.
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Bronwyn Hogan said the sweep was expected to last all day, depending on visibility and other conditions.
A local diver found the 1940s torpedo, which was detonated by the Navy on June 12.
