Sony Ericsson to Close 2 Sites, Eliminate Jobs

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Ltd., a mobile-telephone joint venture of Sony Corp. and Ericsson, said it would stop making some U.S. phones and close two research facilities.

London-based Sony Ericsson will close sites in Munich, Germany, and Research Triangle Park, N.C., eliminating 500 jobs, the company said.
