Mother, Child Struck While Crossing Street

A mother and her young daughter suffered head injuries when they were struck by a car Tuesday evening while crossing a busy North Hollywood street, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The 2-year-old girl’s condition was “serious to critical” and the 24-year-old woman suffered injuries of unknown severity, said Bob Collis of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Both were airlifted to UCLA Medical Center.
The accident occurred about 7:15 p.m. in the 11100 block of Burbank Boulevard. Los Angeles police are investigating.
