Mortgage Rates Drop to Record Lows

U.S. 30-year mortgage rates averaged 5.67% in the week ending today, breaking the previous record low of 5.79% set last week, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.
Fifteen-year mortgages averaged 5.01%, down from the previous record of 5.14% set last week. Freddie Mac said lenders charged an average of 0.6% in fees and points on 30- and 15-year mortgages, unchanged from last week.
